UNDERSTANDING ZIMBABWE 10 UNDERSTANDING MUGABE

As i said in the first blog ….. the church has never understood God’s program for Zimbabwe. One of the roles of prophets is to get real understanding from scripture into the ways of God, solve mysteries and bring understanding where there is confusion, then to crack open the confusion that reigns in the church and bring light and peace, understanding and knowing where you are in God’s program.

A true prophet sweats as he studies God’s word, prays and meditates on the nature of God-to truly know the nature of God and how God’s nature gives you understanding of the present situation. One of the areas of confusion is concerning the president of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe. The church has a problem tying up Mugabe with Zimbabwe situation and the Bible. Christians have to study God’s word, because God’s word teaches us the character of God. What he will do in a situation. His nature. His ways.

Right back from the days in Rhodesia, the church has been confused about ZANLA [Zimbabwe African National Liberation Army] and Mugabe. Having read the series on UNDERSTANDING ZIMBABWE, now you have got some clarity on why God permitted Europeans to come to Zimbabwe, but it was a temporary 100 year captivity, a captivity of 100 years, not a permanent domination. The temporary purpose of the Rhodesians was to have total control so that missionaries could come in and serve the people, without being martyred, bringing clinics, schools and the gospel.

The Rhodesians were to bring education and technology so that technology could be fast tracked to Zimbabweans, then ……. go home! [or remain on serving the people of Zimbabwe]. The majority of the church never grasped God’s program, although the mainline denominations did pressure Ian Smith to bring about majority rule. When the Rhodesians refused a program whereby Indigenous Zimbabweans would regain sovereignty over their resources, their lives, their government, war was necessary. This 2nd Chimurenga war was necessary. This war was the beginning of judgement on the Rhodesian culture.

Robert Mugabe has had something driving him, driving him, driving him for his whole life. What I am going to say is going to be controversial, but it has to be said. I am not here to be popular. I am called as a prophet to speak the truth even if that truth is not for my comfort and the comfort of the people of my culture. I have to speak truth for God so that people can understand why things happened and are happening. What has been driving him is that he has been chosen by God to first of all, bring about majority rule whereby Zimbabweans can be freed from the arrogance, injustice and racism of the Rhodesians, and then free the resources of Zimbabwe so that the Zimbabweans who have been here fore 1000 years can actually control their own resources. Farms, Mines, trees, fish, ecology, tourism spots etc.

I must qualify this. Nebuchadnezzar was chosen by God to bring judgement on Israel. The bible calls him God’s servant. Being God’ servant does not mean that Nebuchadnezzar was a righteous man. It merely means that he was an instrument in the hand of God to bring about God’s purposes. In the case of Nebuchadnezzar, it was to bring death and destruction to Israel as judgement for their evils committed against God and their fellow countrymen. Nebuchadnezzar was a worshipper of evil spirits, but he was described in scripture as a person who did what God had appointed him to do. He also was the head of Gold.

I have no right to tell you if Mugabe is a righteous man or an unrighteous man. If he had faith in Christ and obeys him, repenting of cruelty, injustice and murder, he will be in heaven with Jesus. If he lives for his own power, glory, riches and luxury, he will burn in hell like any other man. Read these scriptures

Jer 25. 8 “Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts: Because you have not obeyed my words, 9 behold, I will send for all the tribes of the north, declares the LORD, and for Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and I will bring them against this land and its inhabitants, and against all these surrounding nations. I will devote them to destruction, and make them a horror, a hissing, and an everlasting desolation.

Note this about this scripture. If a nation persists in rebelling against God, death and destruction will come to that nation. God will raise up a warrior to defeat and destroy that nation. Secondly It is all about actually doing the will of God. Carrying out his will and practising his ways. You can prophesy forever and pray for people forever. They can even fall down and they can even quote scripture to fulfil their desires. But if they do not actually do the will of God, nothing will come of it.

Jer 27.5 “It is I who by my great power and my outstretched arm have made the earth, with the men and animals that are on the earth, and I give it to whomever it seems right to me. 6 Now I have given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, my servant, and I have given him also the beasts of the field to serve him.

A good warrior AND a bad warrior can both implement the will of God. God is sovereign. God does not do what we want but God will do what God wants. He wanted Mzilikazi to punish the Shona. He wanted Europeans to control Zimbabwe in a 100 year captivity. Then he wanted Zimbabwe to be first freed from Ndebele control, and then from Rhodesian control….. and now he wants the resources of Zimbabwe to be in Zimbabwe hands.

Jer 43. 10 and say to them, ‘Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will send and take Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and I will set his throne above these stones that I have hidden, and he will spread his royal canopy over them. 11 He shall come and strike the land of Egypt…

Rhodesians claimed to be a Christian nation. Therefore they were a servant nation [see the series UNDERSTANDING ZIMBABWE-6]. When they refused to leave according to God’s plan, war was necessary and Robert Mugabe was the instrument to lead the war against Rhodesians and to win that war, then to lead and inspire Zimbabweans to possess the land and its resources.

Remember that in the war that Nebuchadnezzar waged against Israel, he first starved the people, by besieging Jerusalem. Then he massacred the people. Of the remnant that remained, he took the intellectuals and the administrators away with him to build his own palace and empire.

Daniel served Nebuchadnezzar and was a spokesman for God to these kings, finally predicting the return from captivity. What I am saying is that Nebuchadnezzar was an instrument of judgement and this judgement was a horror to Israel. Mugabe is an instrument of judgement against Rhodesian culture and values, and this also is a horror to them.

When I went to a farmers meeting at Ruwa, around the year 2000, I publicly announced that the advice the CFU was giving the commercial farmers would bring about tears, sorrow, agony and the eviction of the farmers from their farms. This prophecy came true. I have seen farmers weeping with loud crying when their farms were invaded. They had borrowed money from the banks, and now their crops were harvested by others and they had no hope of repaying the banks. Their dreams were shattered. Dreams of having a rich, productive farm. Having a luxurious house, f having friends around for a braai, of having dams with fishing. Of holidays in South Africa. Of buying vehicles and having DSTV etc. … instead of thinking about the people of Zimbabwe who were captive for 100 years in their own land.

One [white, Canadian, rural] pastor who advised farmers to pray that God would prevent the farm invaders from winning the farm, saw farm after farm taken. He had a nervous breakdown as he saw his rural white farmer flock removed from the land and removed from his rural church. Was God there? The more he prayed, the more the farmers were evicted from the land. He did not see that the more he prayed, the more God acted, but not in accordance with desires of the few farmers, but for the many Zimbabweans.

When one of his flock approached me and started complaining about the invasions of their farm, I angrily told her to hand the keys to the farm to the invaders. Her white Canadian, rural pastor just could not read the bible to see that Rhodesia was a temporary captivity for Zimbabweans. Now the nation was turning to Christ and the nation could run its own affairs in a new technological era, God was giving back the land and the resources to the traditional inhabitants.

From 1998 I warned white Zimbabweans that the land invasions were coming, that they were of God and that it was not possible to resist them. I participated in an email group called ‘Zimchurch’, an email group that had many farmer members. I kept of telling them that they must hand over their farms and that this move was from God. I kept of telling them of their arrogance and racism being the reason why they were being removed from the land by God, and I got many insulting angry replies from them. But by about 2002 or 2003 many of them began agreeing that they were arrogant. They had practised injustice. This made me happy. AT LAST!!! SOME WERE LISTENING!!!!!

Some would-be prophets from pastor Shana’s church in Bulawayo approached me in 2002 and told me that Mugabe was going to die that year. I told them that we would have a prophetic competition. If he did not die, they would come to me and agree that I am a prophet. I told that if Mugabe died, someone would raise him from the dead because he had a mandate that was from God- to recapture the land and the resources of Zimbabwe and give them back to the indigenous people. Being sick, being old and being under tremendous pressure from the international community, the chances were that he would die. Many people were expecting him to die, but prophets do not prophesy what the current popular opinion is. They speak truth against what people want and think. He lives to this day.

It was not only a clash of civilizations, it was a clash of people, inspired by a false ideology of white supremacy and driven by dreams of riches and luxury, were wooden headedly going against the plan of God, a plan clearly revealed in scripture. Those who break the law of God are broken by the law of God. Thus the farmers, many of them Christian, were broken financially and emotionally when they fought against the plan of God, being advised by FALSE pastors and FALSE prophets that they should fight for their farms.

Thus Robert Mugabe [and MUJURU] has served God by waging war against the Rhodesian oligarchy. Having won the war, he has served God by capturing the resources of Zimbabwe and giving them back to the people who have lived here for 1000 years. Those who resisted Mugabe and his indigenization program have been broken by their resistance. They used their money and lost it. They used their time and wasted it. They used their energy and were exhausted by it. They prophesied against him and were exposed as false prophets…. because he was acting within the plan of God.

This does not mean that he is a good man or a bad man. It does not mean that the methods he used were good methods or bad methods. One day he will face God and God will tell him if he is righteous or not. Then he will receive his eternal reward or eternal damnation. But one thing I can definitely tell you. God loves Robert|Mugabe and wants him to repent of his sins, have true faith in him as his ancestors did, and begin to follow his Word and his ways, and to know God, and to be rewarded for every good deed and to live forever with him in heaven.
